We believe a healthy interior must look after the physical wellbeing of its occupants.
Backed by recognized LEED and WELL standards, we handle the planning behind toxin-free air quality and sustainable materials. Nature both inspires and helps us create healthy and beautiful designs.
Natural Connection
Connecting with the natural world is a vital part of creating a restful, restorative space. We look to nature as our ultimate design inspiration, balancing soft daylight, raw timber, and honest, earthy textures.

Intuitive Listening
The most critical aspect of sensory design happens through slow, intentional observation. Our practice is built on uncovering the quiet, unexpressed frustrations and daily challenges within a layout.

ELAINE MCHALE
Elaine founded Terel Sensory Studio to create environments that do more than look beautiful—they enhance the way people feel, think and function.
With a background spanning corporate project management, business and interior design, Elaine brings strategic clarity and creative intuition to every project. Since establishing her first design practice in 2006, she has become known for translating complex client needs into spaces that feel effortless, purposeful and deeply considered.
Her work is grounded in evidence-led design, drawing on environmental psychology, human behaviour and sensory perception to create environments that genuinely support wellbeing. Combined with her deep understanding of neurodiversity, Elaine brings a unique perspective to how people experience and interact with the spaces around them.
Clients value Elaine not only for her design expertise, but for her thoughtful and collaborative approach. She listens carefully, understands what matters most and translates each client's needs into intuitive spaces that are both commercially effective and deeply human.

Terry is Co-Founder of Terel Sensory Studio, bringing over two decades of executive leadership, global strategy and organisational transformation experience to the studio.
With an extensive background as a Director and CEO within the third sector, Terry has operated at senior leadership and board level, supporting organisations through complex change and sustainable growth. His international experience across Europe, the UAE, America and Africa has shaped a global perspective on how organisations, people and environments can thrive together.
His work has always been driven by a commitment to building inclusive organisations, purposeful environments and systems where people can thrive. For Terry, design is more than aesthetics—it is a powerful tool for connection, belonging and human experience.
At Terel Sensory Studio, he combines strategic clarity with an analytical mindset, ensuring the studio’s foundations are as thoughtful, inclusive and effective as the spaces we create.
